Eco-Village A Sustainable Neighbourhood Development Project |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
This sustainable neighbourhood development project is co-sponsored by Wolseley Residents' Association and Klinic Community Health Centre. Activity has focused primarily on the West Broadway area, an inner-city neighbourhood with a 94% rental population, and high unemployment and transient rates. Using a community assets model, the Eco-Village Project organizers helped form the West Broadway Alliance, a coalition of more than 50 organizations committed to revitalizing the neighbourhood. Working groups within the Alliance now actively implement projects in housing, economic development, physical environment, heritage, community participation and social development. Eco-Village |
