Billed as "Community Theatre for Change," Myths and Mirrors uses theatre, poetry and art as tools for education, reflection and change. The plays and art works created by residents of the Donovan-Flour Mill community will bring to life the collective history of this ethnically diverse, working-class neighbourhood. Through street theatre, public celebrations, songs, giant puppets and painting, Myths and Mirrors provides creative outlets for people who are not given much voice elsewhere: the poor, First Nations people, and children. Some of the group's innovative projects include the Better Beginnings quilt project, aimed at building community spirit, and a performance piece developed by 10 participants in the Women's March Against Poverty.
