GARDENS AND TOUR PROJECT

Mole Hill is a full city block of 30 houses in Vancouver's West End. A unique heritage area, it contains a significant sampling of Vancouver's earliest remaining houses, where low and medium-range rental housing is still available. New development continues to encroach on similar neighbourhoods in the city. In order to promote Mole Hill as a "living heritage" community, residents have invited their neighbours to resurrect and expand garden space on the block and to join in a walking tour describing Mole Hill's rich history. The Society's priority issue is to secure stable, well maintained and adequate housing for existing tenants, and to ensure that future building development on the block is in keeping with the site's heritage, housing and community values.
