CALL FOR PROPOSALS, cont... (2/4)

HOW TO APPLY

BY NOVEMBER 30, 2001: SUBMIT A LETTER OF INTENT.

In order to streamline the selection process, the Foundation requests that interested groups or organizations submit a letter of intent, preferably less than three (3) pages long. The deadline for receipt of these letters of intent is November 30, 2001.

A letter of intent should be specific, not a general solicitation of funds, and should include the following information:

WHO is going to undertake the project activity. Your name, the name of your group or organization and all necessary information so we can contact you by mail, telephone, fax or e-mail. Describe the nature of your group or organization's work and how it relates to the project.

WHERE this project activity is going to take place. Describe the place and its community briefly.

WHAT problem your project activity is going to solve or WHAT need it will satisfy. Explain.

HOW your project activity is going to be done, including a brief description of what you think it will achieve.

WHEN your project activity will start and finish.

HOW MUCH it will cost overall. Please indicate the amount requested from the Urban Issues Program.

Within 4 to six weeks of receipt of your letter of intent, you will be notified in writing whether or not your request falls within the Program's goals and objectives.

All letters of intent will receive notification by mail by JANUARY 1, 2002.

No status reports will be given prior to that date.

Should your project fall within the Program's goals and objectives, the Foundation will invite you to submit a FULL PROPOSAL.
